We Sold Our Souls: A Novel

A new novel of supernatural horror (and pop culture) from the author of HORRORSTOR, MY BEST FRIEND'S EXORCISM, and PAPERBACKS FROM HELL.

In the 90s, heavy metal band Dürt Würk was poised for success - but then lead singer Terry Hunt embarked on his own solo career and rocketed to stardom as Koffin, leaving his fellow bandmates behind.

Now, 20 years later, Terry is still touring stadiums and preparing to release his second greatest hits compilation, but his old Dürt Würk band members are still toiling away in menial jobs and struggling to pay the bills. Tuck Merryweather is a smalltime landlord who plays bass in an oldies R&B cover band; guitarist Scottie Rocket works in IT; and lead guitar player Kris is struggling to care for her aging mother in the house she grew up in. As for Bill, no one likes to talk about what happened to Bill.

Everything changes when Kris learns that Terry's rocket ride to success was no accident — that he actually sold their souls in exchange for his own fame and fortune. It turns out that Dürt Würk's third album (a 1998 concept album called "Troglodyte") is actually a secret schematic that reveals the truth about the shadowy forces that enslave mankind. Determined to make things right, Kris reunites the band and tries to convince them that they must go on the road to confront the ex-friend who damned them all to Hell. But the only thing they're convinced of is that Kris is cracking up.

WE SOLD OUR SOULS is a horror novel with a big heart, exploring questions of how much control any of us have over our own destinies. Featuring the same blend of horror, humor, and pop culture that made Grady's previous novels so popular, WE SOLD OUR SOULS is certain to win over even more fans!
