Brandi: Catch a Fallen Star
Once again, Ms Brandi Wein is summoned to the offices of Colonel Justin J. Western for a super-secret task commissioned by the unknown benefactor of an agency called B.O.S.S.. This time, instead of running down a collection of misfit bombers, it is Brandi's task to locate, rescue, and return a kidnap victim named Angelé la Mar who is being held in a secluded and walled-in mansion in the exclusive Hollywood Hills area of Southern California.
Angelé's kidnapper-mentor--and small-time hoodlum--Rollie Vanderville Stump, is determined to transform Angelé from a bit player in garage-produced porn movies into a bona fide Hollywood superstar--whether Angelé herself wants to be a star or not: and she doesn't. Aiding Rollie is Sammy 'the Scam' Pellagreeno: underworld kingpin from New Jersey and owner of the Hollywood Hills mansion where Angelé is being held against her will.
Breaking into the walled and guarded mansion is only the first of many challenges that Brandi will face as she snatches Angelé from the clutches of Rollie, Sammy, and an assortment of Sammy's henchmen. After extracting Angelé from the mansion, Brandi and Angelé must survive a Hollywood Hills gun battle and then flee the area in a rented car. Following them, however, is Rollie himself along with a henchman named Doc, both of whom will use any means to stop Brandi and re-capture Angelé.
During their cross-country flight, Brandi tries numerous evasive tactics to throw the dangerous duo off their trail. But no matter how often she changes routes and directions, no matter how many diversionary side trips she and Angelé make, Rollie and Doc somehow always manage to reappear in their rearview mirror, two car lengths behind them.
During their three-thousand-mile race, Brandi also runs into many other characters who keep the pot boiling. Characters like ex-lover/ex-undercover co-worker, Johnny Nichols, who now owns a ranch in Nevada and still has a yen for Brandi. Like Angelé's ex-co-worker and lap dancer, Sadie Hawkins who found Jesus in Las Vegas. Like two local cops in Montana who insist that Brandi and Angelé are either hookers from Helena, or drug dealers from Southern Cal. Like an ex-Air Force missile engineer named Charli who now runs her own auto repair shop in the Badlands of South Dakota. And like a silver-haired rancher named Jake Renfro who reappears from one of Brandi's previous B.O.S.S. assignments.
Brandi's adventure races towards its climax on a dangerous switchback road in the mountainous deer-country area of Western Pennsylvania where she and Rollie engage in a final highspeed gun battle that can have only one victor.
If you enjoyed Brandi's first assignment--"Brandi: In Pursuit"--be sure to check out this, her second B.O.S.S. adventure--"Brandi: Catch a Fallen Star." And rest assured, Ms Brandi Wein will continue to wear her trademark fedora, no matter what cliff-hanging situation she finds herself in.
