About the Author

Ray McCarthy was born in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, in the 1950s. He has a life long interest in reading, electronics, computers, science and space. A first novel was completed in 1994. While the 12 titles written are all Fantasy or SF, he has ambitions to write detective and romance too. He has travelled widely between 1983 and 2008 entirely in the course of his electronics, communications, or computer jobs. In the 1970s he was highly commended in the Young Scientists competition and obtained an Amateur Radio licence. The engineering and security systems background gives the SF and adventures a solid scientific background. He now inhabits his library and writes most of the time, with breaks to eat, sleep and meet the family. He has spent over 30 years living in the Mid-West of Ireland.
