About the Author

Melody Beattie is the author of numerous best-selling books, including Codependent No More, Beyond Codependency, The Language of Letting Go, More Langauge of Letting Go, and 52 Weeks of Conscious Contact. Her first book, Codependent No More, was published by Hazelden in 1986. Melody's compassionate and insightful look into codependency--the concept of losing oneself in the name of helping another--struck a universal chord among families struggling with a loved one's addiction or other life issues. More than twenty years later, the concepts continue to ring true for millions of people worldwide, as Codependent No More has sold more than five million copies and has been translated into more than a dozen languages. In 2009, Dr. Drew Pinsky named Codependent No More one of four essential self-help books of all time in Newsweek magazine. Melody's recent titles include The Grief Club, Gratitide, and The New Codependency. Her new book, Codependent No More Workbook, will be in stores in the spring of 2011.
