Overview

No image symbolizes the valiantly fought "lost cause" of the Old South so well as that of the Confederate warrior on horseback. These cavalrymen, with their chivalric manners and death-defying exploits, were the last of their kind to take part in a large-scale military conflict. This book is a veritable "greatest hits" of the exploits of the Confederate cavalry, including chapters on twelve different commanders and their mounted men. It features such cavaliers as JEB Stuart, John Hunt Morgan, Nathan Bedford Forrest, John S Mosby, Wade Hampton, Joe Wheeler, and more.
