How do you know if you are being bullied? Is it hitting, mean teasing, name-calling, or even not talking to you? Bullying can be all those things and can cause physical and emotional harm. An important message of this book is that by understanding bullying, one has power to help stop it, if not by helping the victim or confronting the bully, then by talking to adults in a safe environment. An activity section encourages young people to make a “Stand Up to Bullying” pledge especially in school and to encourage classmates to join in.
