About the Author


Hugh Butcher was head of the Department of Community Studies at Bradford College, UK. 

Sarah Banks is codirector of the Centre for Social Justice and Community Action and professor in the School of the Applied Social Sciences at Durham University.

Paul Henderson is honorary professor of earth sciences at University College London and former director of science at the Natural History Museum in London. His most recent book is The Cambridge Handbook of Earth Science Data.

Jim Robertson was senior lecturer in community work studies at Northumbria University.
