Crocodile Cake

A little girl learns about the power of imagination and confronting her fears in this delightful picture book. Bored and upset that no one in her family pays attention to her, a little girl decides to bake a very special cake with her Grandfather John, and together they mix the ingredients to create an enormous crocodile-shaped cake. While waiting for the cake to bake, the little girl hears strange noises in the kitchen, and when she opens the oven to take a peek, the crocodile cake bursts out and gobbles up everyone the little girl knows. The little girl soon discovers that revenge is not so sweet, as the crocodile chases her into the night. The faster she runs, the larger the crocodile becomes. The menacing foe suddenly becomes less scary, though, when the little girl remembers who created who. Told in fast-paced, catchy verse, this quirky and colorful story features lively illustrations that shift from bright to darker shades as the story progresses.
