Cross-Currents
Charming and willful research nurse, Rose-Ellen Power, arrives at the Dublin City Hospital to work with clever and talented medical oncologist, Dr. Pierre O’Hegarty, sailor extraordinaire. However she doesn’t realise the unusual events that will unfurl and lead her to re-think her own role in the great pharmaceutical empire of drug research. Caught up in a web of intrigue where foul play, attempted murder and fraud are manifest, Rose-Ellen becomes disillusioned with her lot.

Seeking to find answers to her own uncertainties, and after an unexpected romantic encounter with Detective Finn O’Donnell, she sails to France to realise her dream of starting her own coffee shop and delicatessen there.

Out in France, with few people to befriend and support her, Rose-Ellen struggles with the difficulties of setting up a business. Her survival skills are tested to their limits. Meanwhile Dr. Pierre O’Hegarty moves to France to help his uncle wind down his nautical business, and Finn O’Donnell tries to spend time from his busy schedule with the beguiling beauty he casually met in the corridors of an Irish hospital.

Cross-Currents is peppered with the excitement and thrill of sailing, which contrasts with the tranquil life of a small rural village in France. Passion and intrigue lie beneath the arcane world of clinical research and the temptations it offers to act fraudulently. All this is set against the contrast of a French landscape of shimmering poplars and willow trees.
