Overview

Three days after Christmas an auto accident left Caleb partially disabled and took the life of his five year old nephew. Now on the anniversary, four years later, Caleb is afraid to leave his house; even to attend his brother's upcoming wedding.

Soon past friends and deceased relatives mysteriously begin showing up in his home to deliver their messages and help him through his phobia by showing him glimpses of his past, present and possible future.

About the Author

Jerry was born on a spring night of 1983. His love of books started when his parents gifted him a box set of classic novels republished for kids. By fifth grade he was writing his own stories; a hobby which he continued off and on throughout middle and high school.

In 2008 he wrote his first novella, but quickly developed a passion for screenwriting. He entered several into contests and sent them out to literary agents. While the feedback was reassuring he was still unable to secure representation.

He eventually took the advice from one such agent and began adapting his scripts into book form in 2014 by merging the two writing styles of screenwriting and novels.

He now has plans of publishing eight books based on his screenplays and possibly a ninth as a collection of short stories.

The author delightfully updates the story for modern times, but also reinvents it by creating a more human Scrooge and delving deep into his insecurities and fears. Veit gives the reader an opportunity to experience all of Caleb's grief, shame, fear, and pain. Days Gone By offers compelling new characters in a seemingly-old tale that will keep readers thinking about the story long after they've stopped reading.
