The battered, old book in her pack is the key, but Xyleena cannot remember why. In fact, all she can remember is waking up in the healer’s wing of the Temple. As she struggles to make sense of it all and the dreams that haunt her, Dimitri, a man who knows exactly what he wants and is willing to do anything to get it, begins his quest for revenge. Disguised, Dimitri, together with his small band of cohorts, sneak into the Temple in search of the key that will unlock the greatest secret on all of Ithnez; the key which lies with Xyleena.
A battle over the book in her possession forces Xyleena onto a quest for answers and her own retribution. Determined to stay one step ahead of Dimitri, she finds herself teaming up with the unlikeliest of allies in the hopes of finding the long lost Dragons of Light. Only with these fabled creatures will Xyleena and her friends be able to save their world from the clutches of Dimitri’s evil plans.

About the Author

Selena Inali Raynelif Drake (born May 17, 1986 in Minot, North Dakota) is an American author and artist. She is best known as the author of the Dragon Diaries Saga, which currently consists of The Return of the Dragon Keepers. She lives in Fargo, North Dakota with her older brother and two dogs. While attending middle school, Selena was given a book report assignment for her English class. She went with the class to the school library, where she randomly picked up Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey. After she finished reading the novel, she was inspired to start her own story about a young girl who could control dragons. Inspired by a mix of Anne McCaffrey's works, Dune by Frank Herbert, and Final Fantasy VII, Selena created the alien world called Ithnez. Originally planned to be just a trilogy, the various evolutions of the story and the characters within changed that plan extensively. The Dragon Diaries Saga turned into a nine-book-long series. Further brainstorming with her friends Matt and Sabrina sprouted the two branch sagas, Mars Chronicles and Tomes of Rishai. Both of these are still undergoing development. In early 2009, Selena finished the first draft of her book, then titled Dragon Quest. After getting high praises from a number of beta readers, Selena published Dragon Diaries: Ascension herself in December of 2010. In 2012, she published the eagerly awaited sequel titled Dragon Diaries: Culmination. During the later months of 2014, Selena decided to combine Ascension and Culmination into one novel titled Dragon Diaries: The Return of the Dragon Keepers. This new version contains an all new begining and was published February 19, 2015. She is currently at work on the next leg of the saga, Dragon Diaries: Memorandum, as well as her other series, The AEON Files.
