Overview

Director Peter Bishai explores the complex history of Apartheid through the incredible experiences of two well-known celebrities whose friendship was put to the ultimate test by the racist South African system of legal discrimination. In 1976, Muntu Ndebele and Norman Knox appeared together onscreen in the playful family-oriented drama e'Lollipop (aka Forever Young, Forever Free). After appearing together in the film, Ndebele and Knox forged a warm bond of friendship. That bond was broken, however, when the fight over Apartheid turned violent in the 1980s, and the two friends found themselves on opposing sides of the struggle. Years later, when Nelson Mandela was elected president of South Africa, the two former co-stars finally found the conviction to see past their differences, and pick of the pieces of their fractured friendship.
