Burly Bronx bouncer Tony Lip (Viggo Mortensen) is hired by refined African-American composer and musician Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali) to chauffer him around the Jim Crow South in 1962 for an eight-week tour. The mismatched men form a friendship as Tony learns first-hand the disrespect and outright racism from white people across regional and class lines that Don must endure to perform. Directed by Peter Farrelly.
