Jim Carrey is at his funniest and most appealing in this comedy-fantasy about a deceptive lawyer whose neglected son's birthday wish that Dad can't lie for 24 hours magically comes true. Alternating between slapstick and moments of genuine warmth, Carrey makes his character believable when it counts -- in the scenes with his son -- and manically hilarious the rest of the time. One scene, in which Carrey uncontrollably spews his true opinions of his law firm's senior partners, is already destined for classic status.
