Overview

The Tony Award-winning musical about the birth of modern rock 'n' roll makes the leap from stage to screen in this performance featuring the original Broadway cast. During the 1950s, racial tensions in the U.S. were at an all-time high. Segregation was the norm, but colorblind DJ Harry Calhoun (Chad Kimball) only cared about the music. Inspired by the intense energy of rock 'n' roll, white Harry found himself at the epicenter of a major cultural shift after falling for a talented black singer (Montego Glover), and teaming with her to change the course of musical history.
