In this comedy, the pragmatic editor of a women's fashion magazine conceals her marital status by wearing a gold band on her ring finger so salesmen, male clients, and their jealous wives will leave her alone. Unfortunately a handsome portrait artist is not so easily put off and he pursues the uptight woman with gusto. At first she rejects him, but as time passes she ends up in love. Unfortunately, she still needs to explain the presence of the little ring.
