Overview

Produced during WWII in occupied France, many of the actors were active resistance fighters, including the author/poet, Jacques Prevert. A beautiful period film, this movie is set in the Parisian theatre district of the 1800s, where an actor falls in love with an unattainable woman. Though their love must remain unrequited, it never ends.
