Overview

This offering is the sequel to the phenomenally successful 1977 miniseries Roots. Episode Six takes place during WWII. Young Alex Haley has joined the coast guard but instead is consigned to the kitchen. Volunteering to write letters home for his less literate shipmates, Alex discovers his gift for writing.
