Overview

This horror-fantasy is set during the 19th century and has a basis in Greek mythology. The story concerns Dr. Stephens who during his research discovers that just before a person dies, their body is surrounded by the aura-like Asphyx . It also appears when a person is in mortal danger. In this phenomenon, Stephens believes he sees the key to living forever. He begins experimenting with animals and manages to capture the Asphyx of a guinea pig. As long as the aura is contained the guinea pig cannot die. Naturally, he next begins experimenting with humans. Unfortunately, as he does, he inadvertently releases a terrible supernatural power.
