About the Author

Vera Axyonova is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at Justus Liebig University Giessen and Fulda University of Applied Sciences. She is also a Hurford Next Generation Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. She earned her Ph.D from the University of Bremen and Jacobs University Bremen.
