About the Author


in 1975. He also received the first Edward Steichen Award for news photography and was named Regional Photographer of the Year from 1974 to 1977 by the National Press Photographers Association. He has worked for major newspapers around the country, including the Los Angeles Times, Newsday, and the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He lives in La Conner, Wash.
