Everything That Has an End
Everything that has a beginning has an end. Out of the ashes of his assault on the home of his greatest enemy, Vlad comes home to the people who know and love him best. He brings them Plague and storm and death. They will give him truth and hope. And in the end he will know the way forward.

"For the last time, we only came to talk to Vlad. If you will simply tell us where we can find him we will be on our way." Jackal spoke calmly, coal black eyes stead on Ethan's sky blue, but you could still hear the heat in his voice. The younger wizard's coached, formal way of speaking grated against the elder. It didn't escape Ethan's notice he was dealing with a Knight. A wizard born for war and battle. This boy could likely rip out his threat before the older wizard could move.
Even so, he'd be damned before telling this boy where to find Vlad. If the boy didn't want to be found that was his choice. Not that he could tell them where his former student was even if he'd wanted. He just wished Katherine were elsewhere than behind him.
These two Knights had shown up and demanded to speak with Vlad. Ethan and Kat were waiting up, hoping the boy would come by. They'd already let out the few customers and closed up shop. Kat had ignited a pair of lights above the foyer before the counter area casting them in clear bright light. Long bookshelves receded into shadows. The Novakatana heir stood behind her friend at the edge of the light, chill blue eyes studying the room. A cute little blond thing, she was probably more dangerous than her partner.
"What part of five seconds don't you understand?" Jackal those focused Knight's eyes, killer's eyes, on Ethan. The youngest son of house Arrowhead had seen them before and was not impressed. "Get out now."
"We're not going anywhere until-"
"Boys, boys, boys, really now. If you were going to be having a measuring contest, the least you could've done is invite me."
