About the Author

Paulette Bourgeois is the author of more than 40 books for children, including the In My Neighborhood series and Oma's Quilt. She lives in Toronto, Ontario.

Brenda Clark is best known as the illustrator of the original Franklin the Turtle series written by Paulette Bourgeois. Other popular titles she has illustrated include Sadie and the Snowman, Big Sarah's Little Boots, and the award winning, Little Fingerling. Brenda lives in Port Hope, Ontario.

Franklin is a lovable turtle who goes through many of the same dilemmas that children face today. He shows even the youngest readers the importance of decision making and choosing right over wrong. In this adventure, Franklin finds a camera on the ground that has just one picture taken. He struggles with what to do with the camera, as he would love to keep it. His friends encourage him to abide by the "finders keepers" rule. For awhile, Franklin goes along with their advice and enjoys taking funny pictures of his friends. Later he begins to think of the real owner and how he or she must feel. Some advice from Dad helps Franklin decide to return the camera to its rightful owner. Franklin is easy to relate to and all of the books in the Franklin series are great discussion starters for parents and childcare providers.
