About the Author

Diane Barrett was born and raised in North Alabama. She didn’t leave Alabama until she was twenty-eight years old. She left to go to work in the rail industry. She had never lived outside of Alabama yet moved to Savannah, Georgia. A place she had never even visited became her new home. Within the rail industry, she worked as a conductor, yardmaster, track foreman, and trainmaster. With each new career change, she had to attend new training, usually in a new state. This was hard for her considering she was only the second grandchild to finish college.
Her first trip out of the country was to the Bahamas. Again, it was another huge feat considering she was the only one in her family to attempt it.
Diane should be an expert on the subject matter in this book since it took her thirty years to get it right. She had made many mistakes, like being married and divorced five times. It takes an expert to understand how to achieve personal growth from those odds.
