Four Years, Two Roads
Foreword by Andrew Maxwell, Michigan State Quarterback 2009-2014

As Homecoming King, class president, and an All-American hurdler (Michigan State University track and field commit), the Lord blessed Derek with a memorable high school experience. But no accolade compared to the joy of following Jesus on the narrow road. Join Derek in Four Years, Two Roads: Finding Eternal Significance in High School as he explains how to glorify Christ through the once-in-a-lifetime opportunities of high school.

These years will fly by. You don’t want to waste them. And the way to do that is not through a 4.0 grade point average or an athletic scholarship. Want to make the most of high school? Follow Jesus. This collaboration of personal experiences and biblical exposition is an encouragement to students to live unashamed for the Gospel – no matter the consequences.

Four Years, Two Roads covers the five areas of students’ lives and every crevasse in-between; from singleness to choosing a college, from competing for God to making disciples, and even that awkward “s” word that many tend to avoid (sex). This book will challenge students to be uncommon for Christ – the only way to graduate with no regrets. High school students don’t need more rules to live by but a calling to live for; here it is.
