Join Claire, aka Frizzy Frieda, on her adventure to try out for cheerleading to try and fit in---hair and all! She can chant “Ready? Okay,” but she is far from the popular cheer prompt. Her clumsy limbs are flailing in all the wrong directions and she’s sporting what her annoying brother, DJ, calls a “poof doo.” But, making the cut is her only way to be part of the “in crowd” and catch the attention of dreamy Josh, the star basketball player. With only three days to learn the cheer routine, tryouts are fast approaching. As Claire cartwheels across the gym floor, she soon discovers that more than her hair is spinning out of control!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Pamela Cali Bankston lives in South Louisiana where she writes and practices as a registered nurse. Certified in pediatrics, she has enjoyed caring for children over the past twenty years. After winning several writing contest, she was inspired to create Frizzy Frieda. She is also author of “La Famiglia” Sicilian American Cookbook, and loves both preparing and eating her family’s recipes. She credits much of her accomplishments to her supportive family and friends who love her even when her hair is “Frizzy!”

AOUT THE LLUSTRATOR: Lexi-Shae Brooks is a Wyoming college student, currently studying Fine Art. She has been painting for several years and drawing since she could hold a pencil. She spends most of her time studying, reading, working out, and finding interesting things to do with her own crazy hair. She likes trying new things, all kinds of art, and all kinds of braids.
