Gavin the Chef's Yummy Beef Stew
Gavin the Chef's Yummy Beef Stew is the first of nine Junior Cookbooks designed to provide young readers with steps of food preparation through actual photographs of Gavin cooking. Each photograph is followed by a narrative describing what he is doing. These are not recipes; they are designed to inform, educate and entertain young people enjoying food preparation or thinking about becoming a chef. Gavin is 7 years old and the descriptions are commensurate with this age group, and up. Emphasis is placed on adult supervision to ensure safety in all respects, including quality of food. Ingredients used are "off-the-shelf" and brand names are seen, but no credits are provided. Adults are shown participating, and a family environment is clearly evident. These cookbooks are designed to share Gavin's efforts and all nine books are formatted in the same manner for consistency. Read with your child and enjoy the experience. Have fun!

Greg and Liz have, as of 2012, had the opportunity to work, grow and live together for over 36 years. Greg, born in 1944 is a 1962 graduate of Quakertown High School in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, (under his birth name of Gregory St. John Sidoroff); a 1966 alumnus of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia; and a graduate of Penn State University, with a BA in English, and a certificate in the Creative Writing Option. Professionally, Greg has worked as a technical illustrator, writer and editor for firms such as General Electric, Boeing, and others such as M&M Mars, Weyerhaeuser, and Sun Company in Philadelphia. Greg and Liz formed their own company, DUO Publications & Documentation R&D and established the business in West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA, where they now reside. He is currently “retired” into a full-time writing career, his first love.
As a graphics artist, he designs and creates the book covers for Classical Doorway, and manages his own array of private websites to market his talents and abilities. These can be seen, and his book listing can be accessed from www.classicaldoorway.com. He is a proud American; husband; parent; grandparent; friend; a Kappa Sigma Fraternity member; and a “turtle,” in that order. He is also a Vietnam-Era Veteran of the United States Air Force, 1966-1970. He has been a sailor, horseman, polo player and swimmer.
Liz, born in 1950, is a graduate of Salem Academy in Winston-Salem, NC in 1968 and received her BA from Temple University in Liberal Arts English in 1972. Professionally, Liz has worked as a Public Relations writer, Community Services Director for a school for juvenile delinquents, as a technical writer and technical editor, as well as a Regulatory Controls specialist for mandated documentation for various industries.
As a consultant she has worked for major industry and guided small companies through the rigors of creating auditable documentation for Information Technology (IT) departments involving a myriad of regulatory requirements, such as Sarbanes/Oxley. She has provided integrated services for the credit card industry, the insurance industry, and American, British and European banking companies involving regulation and securities’ standards worldwide. Liz has joined her husband, Greg, as a full-featured, co-author on books produced beginning in 2012, as well as acting as the publisher for their works in e-book markets.
