About the Author

Through our companies Creative Soul Records, Creative Soul Jazz, and Next Level Jazz, we offer artists across the nation and the world the opportunity for true artist development, full studio production in Nashville, TN using the top players, studios, engineers, and producers in music today. Our goal is to offer not only this outstanding production and development, but the record label services that can help artists reach a national and international audience. Eric Copeland has been playing piano, writing songs, and making recordings of his music since he was 13. In his college years, he became interested in jazz, heavily influenced by the vocal jazz and pop of Al Jarreau, the keyboard and synthesizer work of Jeff Lorber, and other artists like Gino Vanelli, Manhattan Transfer, and Bruce Hornsby. Also influenced by rock groups like Genesis, ELO, Earth, Wind, and Fire, by his twenties Eric was also studying modern jazz groups like the Yellowjackets, Steps Ahead, Pat Metheny, and Flim and the BBs. Vocal jazz music also figured in heavily with Michael Franks and Take 6. His interest in contemporary gospel music, as well as his keyboard programming and production skills, brought a natural role as producer, and Eric has now served in this role on hundreds of albums, EPs, and singles for artists across the US and the world. Eric formed Creative Soul Records in 1997 to facilitate his own records, but studio clients also requested to be affiliated. 17 years later, the label is a thriving development and services label in the Christian and gospel niche. Also a jazz producer, Eric has had recent success with his Creative Soul Jazz label, as guitarist Drew Davidsen has found a national audience under the label's development. Other artists gaining the national jazz spotlight are jazz fusion guitarist Tom Hemby, and the Nashville session player super group, Player A. Specialties Music Producer, Singer, Keyboardist, Arranger, Songwriter, Graphic Designer, Visonary, Consultant, Author, Fireman, Babysitter, Psychologist, and Basketball Enthusiast
