About the Author

I have a BA in English, a BS in Physical Therapy and a JD/MBA, yet I still couldn't out smart my 3 "entertaining" kids. Instead I joined in the fun by creating Heard on the Playground - Funny Things Kids Say.

I tell people I created the book because I found so many parents, teachers and friends with funny kid stories, I felt it was almost criminal not to share them with everyone. This is only half the truth, though. The other half is that I really wanted proof so I could tell my husband "see there are other kids out there like ours...and yes they are normal."

Needless to say, the publishing of this book was a bit brutal. My main challenge was finding a talented illustrator. After eliminating my ten year old due to his tendency to draw things blowing up and axing the three year old due to his limited knowledge of colors and shapes, I settled on my eight-year-old daughter. The negotiations were tough, and due to confidentiality I can only reveal that trips to the water park and American Girl doll were involved.

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have enjoyed creating it. And just remember, with every copy you purchase, you're proving my husband wrong by showing him that this book does sell.
