Irvin D. Yalom, MD, is a Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He is the author of nearly twenty books, including The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy, Existential Psychotherapy, Love's Executioner, Momma and the Meaning of Life, and The Schopenhauer Cure. He lives in Palo Alto, California.
