This book presents radiology of the shoulder in a unique didactic concept, with careful organization of material under headings, using margin comments that summarize the most important information. The book begins with a chapter on the basic anatomy of the shoulder joint, and shows examples of various projections of standard radiographs, and what these reveal. Arthrography, ultrasound, CT and MRI are included in all parts of the book. Following this introductory chapter on image technique and interpretation, the individual pathologic chapters cover such topics as trauma, degenerative changes, tumors, inflammation and more.A concise and clearly organized representation of contents in this text allows quick orientation and assimilation of the most important aspects of shoulder imaging.

Description: Imaging Strategies for the Shoulder is a first edition hoping to provide guidelines for evaluating diseases of the shoulder.
Purpose: The goal of this book is to provide a "stepwise diagnostic approach to shoulder diseases and to provide readily available guidance for daily clinical work." This is a worthy objective especially in the day and age of rising health care costs and the ever-increasing use of medical imaging. This book met its objectives.
Audience: This book is written as a guide for daily clinical work and, as such, is targeted to a wide audience including students, residents, practitioners, and even attendings. The author, while not known to me, seems a credible authority.
Features: This book covers a wide range of topics involving the shoulder. The pictures and illustrations provided are excellent. Layout of each page is very nice and although the print is small, spacing each of the three columns is a good idea. The Diagnostic Evaluation sections are particularly helpful as are many of the example images. In my opinion, the Goals of Imaging section is not particularly helpful.
Assessment: This book is a nice addition to the field of shoulder imaging. While particularly helpful for our clinical colleagues, this book may be somewhat limited for the more advanced reader. The illustrations and images are excellent and of high quality.
