Well-known cookery writer Damien Trench is famous for his book A Year in the Kitchen and is now writing its follow-up volume, In and Out of the Kitchen, in which he opens up the doors "not only to my kitchen, but also to my life".
During the course of these six episodes, Damien is nominated for an award, finds himself catering for a funeral, agrees to make an after dinner speech, tips his toe into the world of travel journalism, reluctantly helps out at one of his partner Anthony's barbecues, and contends with an angry neighbour. He also supports Anthony in his thespian venture in a production of Hay Fever.
