Intelligent Networks: Principles and Applications
This handbook sets out to explain the basic principles of intelligent networks and to illustrate them with practical examples of applications. Although international standards are beginning to emerge, they are far from simple and this text seeks to assist clarity in understanding the underlying principles. The enabling technologies are reviewed but much of the text is devoted to practical issues such as service control points, existing switches, call party handling and more. The principles are then extended into the technologies of mobility, broadband and the Internet, together with discussion of managing intelligence in communications and how to charge for it.
