About the Author

Mark Binder is the author who knows how to tell a story. As a youngster, his family moved frequently, and his best friends were his books. He majored in “world mythology and storytelling” at Columbia University, studied for his Masters at the Trinity Rep Theater Conservatory, and holds a third degree black belt in Aikido, the martial art for peace.

Mark has written and edited newspapers, magazines, books and ebooks. The author of more than a dozen books, his best selling Bed Time Story collections have been reprinted fourteen times. He is a nationally-known performance storyteller and an award-winning spoken-word recording artist.

Mark’s powerful sense of responsibility has motivated him to twice run for political office, challenging both a Kennedy and the sitting Speaker of the Rhode Island House of Representatives. He believes that repeating the same story over and over and expecting different results is a guarantee for failure. His solution: create dynamic stories that inspire, amuse, enthrall, educate and motivate.

He has lived in London, Washington DC, San Antonio, Cambridge, and New York City. Today, Mark Binder lives in Providence with his wife and their children, and when he is not baking bread or making pizza, he tours the world sharing his written and spoken stories with audiences of all ages.
