Jesus and Lao Tzu: Adventures with the Tao Te Ching
"How can I describe this book? If I say it is brilliant, crazy, hilarious, sobering, vulgar, and sublime, all those words are true—but they are certainly not enough to express the contents of Jesus & Lao Tzu. The book defies being categorized or neatly summarized. It will have to suffice if I say simply this: the book's words make me happier, freer, and wiser. If you read it with an open heart, I predict it will do the same for you."

—Kenneth McIntosh, author of Water from an Ancient Well: Celtic Spirituality for Modern Life.

About the Author

George Breed is a PhD psychologist whose doctorate focused on nonverbal communication. His interest in the nonverbal realm began with an out-of-the-body experience at age twelve, and it continued with his martial arts training on Okinawa while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is a fifth-degree black belt, Isshinryu Karate. His boots-on-the-ground experience includes teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, being the executive director of a two-county behavioral health agency; serving as the program manager and chief psychologist for a four-county behavioral health agency, working as a psychologist for a university employee assistance and wellness program; and engaging in private practice in Flagstaff, Arizona. In addition to authoring manuscripts in psychology journals reporting experimental findings in areas of nonverbal behavior, peak experiences and self-actualization, small group behavior, and attitudinal change and measurement, George is the author of several books, including the following titles published by Anamchara Books: "The Hidden Words of the Living Jesus: A Commentary on the Gospel of Thomas," "The Inner Work of the Warrior," and "Zen Baptist." He has been a frequent presenter at local, state, national, and international professional conferences on such topics as the application of martial arts principles to daily life; centering as a spiritual practice; radical spirituality; and work as a practice of joy. George deliberately has no car and walks daily in the beauty of northern Arizona, almost always with a camera. He is a man who has traveled far on his journey.
