John Pawson Works
In this revised and expanded edition, Sudjic describes the works of minimalist architect John Pawson, based on interviews given over several years, sometimes while he was with clients such as Calvin Klein and Martha Stewart or working on commissions. Sudjic provides biographical information, and describes the architect's designs of galleries, an apartment for Anne Faggionato, stores for Calvin Klein and Jigsaw, the Obumex kitchen system, a lounge for Cathay Pacific Airlines, Young Vic theatre, Stewart's house as well as Pawson's, and a monastery. Interspersed throughout the text are striking full-page color photos and blueprints. Included is a list of works, but no bibliography. Sudjic is architecture critic for London's Observer.
