The following is what I wrote at that time. Years ago, I was a person who didn't think I could stand it if my father died. I felt like I would go to pieces as the loss would be so great. The journey of the last few months of my father's life was so powerful, that I felt compelled to explain how I planned ahead with "conscious awareness" to make his illness and death my own joyful miracle.
I wanted to honor the fact that he had such an impact on my life by dying. His death changed my outer life, as well as my inner life. Had I been lost in my own grief, I would have missed so many joyful miracles.
