Les Grandes Espérances ou De grandes espérances (en anglais Great Expectations) est le treizième roman de Charles Dickens (1812-1870), le deuxième, après David Copperfield, à être raconté entièrement à la première personne par le protagoniste lui-même,Philip, Pirrip, dit Pip. Pip divise son histoire en trois parties, correspondant aux trois « étapes » (stages) de son « voyage » (journey) : son enfance et sa prime jeunesse dans le Kent alors qu'il rêve de s'élever au-dessus de son humble condition, puis sa jeune maturité à Londres après avoir reçu ses « grandes espérances », enfin sa désillusion de connaître la source de sa fortune à quoi s'associe sa lente prise de conscience de la vanité de ses fausses valeurs.
