About the Author

Lúcia Barros holds two master’s degrees in women studies from the University of London. Throughout her writing career, she’s worked in newspapers, magazines, the web, radio, and TV, and created her own company of corporate communication. Twenty years ago, she began working with Márcia as her yoga and meditation teacher. She conducts research on happiness and gives talks in companies and universities, and is a Member of Rede de Mulheres Líderes da Sustentabilidade (Women Leaders for Sustainability Group), a network of influential women in Brazil that promotes sustainability and the empowerment of women. She lives in Sao Paulo.

Márcia de Luca has been studying and practicing yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda for over 35 years. She devotes herself to her chosen mission: to inspire people to find their wholeness, teaching them paths to integrate body, mind, and spirit. She studied closely with Depak Chopra, brought him to Brazil, and was trained to teach his methods. She advises companies, offers talks, workshops, and tailor-made courses. She writes for various Brazilian magazines.

Today Márcia and Lúcia are working together in a project called Bindu School of Values, in which they teach mindfulness for a happier life, integrating meditation and yoga. They hold special workshops for school teachers, parents, and grandparents.
