How different can life be in a rainy and wet, green and leafy environment that never sees snow? Very different: the plants and animals are different and some of the people look very different. The rain forest climate is described in simple, brief language punctuated by bold print and contrasting sidebars in organic shapes of pale lavender and lime greens. The spare text presents information about the trees, birds, insects, animals and plants that live in a rain forest. One bold color image per page is collaged on a half-tone background with linear graphics that suggest tall trees and lush vegetation. The benefits of the rain forest are described as are the endangered status of some of its plants, animals and insects.
