When Civil war enthusiast, Palmer Thomas goes in search for her ancestors grave marker at the cemetery in Gettysburg, she is carjacked, shot and transported in time into the middle of the Battle of Gettysburg, and is thought to be a spy. As she assists Dr. Jonathan Lowell with the wounded, her skills as a nurse attracts him and he doesn't believe she is there to report their activities to the Northern Army. However, the evidence staked against her is damaging, and he has no proof that she is innocent.
