K-Gr 3—Hello Kitty is a beloved character with a huge fanbase. This title offers multiple comics centered around a common theme. There's twist or surprise at the end of each tale. The endpapers introduce readers to the characters featured in the stories. Similar to the Andy Runton's "Owly" books (TopShelf), this series is wordless, with speech bubbles that use punctuation marks to give clues about what the protagonists are thinking or saying. Each panel is filled with colorful, eye-catching graphics that help kids focus on the narrative and will have them coming back again and again. Themes of friendship, acceptance, imagination, adventure, and family make this series an uplifting addition to graphic novel collections. Younger children might need some support to understand some of the tales, but the engaging images will keep readers hooked no matter what age. Sprinkled throughout the book are short one-page comics which offer a different interpretation of the iconic character. From dinosaurs to sharks to pirates to superheroes, this installment is sure to be a hit with comic and Hello Kitty fans.—David C. Barrow Elementary, Athens, GA
