About the Author

Dorothy McMillan is a senior Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Glasgow, and a past President of the Association for Scottish Literary Studies. She has published widely on women's writing and co-edited A History of Scottish Women's Writing (EUP, 1997). Michel Byrne lectures in the Department of Celtic at the University of Glasgow. He is the editor of the definitive two-volume Collected Poems and Songs of George Campbell Hay (EUP, 2000).
