About the Author

My name is Florence Plum. I began working as a substitute teacher in the 1979 school year. I’ve been blessed by being able to substitute in many different classrooms for over 30 years.

Teaching had always been my dream. I attended college after high school and all my credits are in education. I worked full time to support myself, and by the time I got to my student teaching there wasn’t enough time or money for both.

I met my husband-to-be in 1963, and we were married in 1964. During the next 10 years, we had 5 sons.
