About the Author

Adolf Jochnick is an American with dual American-Swedish citizenship. He grew up in Sweden during the Second World War, which stimulated an early interest in military history. He subsequently studied this subject while in the Swedish military, in which he has held a commission as an officer, and at the University of Stockholm. In 1958 he graduated from the Harvard Law School and has practiced law for most of his career. In 2014, he completed a book about the battles between Russia, Sweden, and the Ottoman Empire in the early eighteenth century. He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with his wife Liz.
