About the Author

Joy Wilsted, author of Now Johnny CAN Learn to Read, has taught in private and public schools in four states in different parts of the country.Joy Wilsted first experienced the anxieties and joys of teaching reading as a parent, when one of her children had a slow start in reading. Following this “first teaching experience,” Joy entered the field of education. She continues to be involved in helping parents and teachers better understand the reading process. Joy’s enthusiasm for “reading as a language process” can be captured in demonstrations she conducts for parents and teachers in many parts of the country.
