About the Author

Jamie Hawkins, in his late thirties, developed a deep interest in the Second World War. After listening to stories from his father-in-law and stepfather, all of whom had served in the war, he read extensively on this horrific chapter of world history. Several of these books were what-ifs. The war crime trials in Nuremberg, Germany, at the end of World War II intrigued him—maybe there was room for one more what-if.
