About the Author

Sara Eggleston grew up in Munday, Texas, learning the Bible from her mother as her mom made bread, strained milk, churned butter, and otherwise engaged in homemaking. Sara’s hard work ethic developed early through helping her father and brothers work the family farm. She graduated from Munday high school in 1961 as valedictorian of her class, and enrolled in Abilene Christian College, from which she eventually earned graduate and undergraduate degrees.

During her first semester in college, however, her previously idyllic life turned chaotic following her marriage to her first husband, whose character defects she would only recognize over time as Sara and their daughter were dragged through nonstop chaos and terror that even involved, for a time, protection from the Mafia by the FBI.

She was involved with education for more than thirty years as a teacher and then as an administrator. She was principal of Pattison Elementary School when it won a National Award of Excellence in 1994. The following year, she was one of fifty recipients of the National Distinguished Principal’s Award, representing Texas.

She met and married Frank Eggleston, DDS, in 1982. Dr. Eggleston specialized in Restorative and Operative Dentistry for nearly forty years. He has served on the American Academy of Dentistry Board of Trustees, as President of the Texas Dental Association, and as President of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry. Dr. and Mrs. Eggleston travel worldwide, presenting health education talks primarily focused on the value of whole food nutrition.

Sara’s purpose in creating On Eagles’ Wings, her first book, is expressed in the book’s foreword “…to give hope hope to anyone facing adversity, that out of the ashes of their life God can truly take them to the highest point . . . the zenith of His existence. For He, and only He,CAN raise a phoenix from the ashes of despair and desperation.”
