About the Author

Jeff Bernhardt is a writer, educator, and licensed clinical social worker currently residing in Los Angeles. He earned a B.A. in Sociology and Education at Brandeis University, an MSW at USC, and an M.A. in Jewish Communal Service at Hebrew Union College. His writing has appeared in the Journal of Jewish Communal Service, the Los Angeles Times, and the Jewish Journal (Los Angeles), as well as Jewish newspapers throughout the United States. His work has also appeared in the books Mentsh (Alyson Books, 2004) and Rosh Hashanah Readings (Jewish Lights, 2006). He has written the dramatic readings Who Shall Live . . . ?, Standing at Sinai, and Those Who Walked Beside Us, which have been performed in synagogues and other Jewish communal settings throughout North America (www.jewishdramas.com).
