This is an alphabet book that focuses on a variety of aspects of life in Georgia. Told in forced rhyme, each letter has an illustration that appears to be executed in pastels. Sidebars give more details on the subjects mentioned in the rhymes. For example, the letter Y has this rhyme: "Stone Mountain is ablaze with flowers,/honoring three Confederate heroes so high./These rare and cheery blossoms,/Confederate Yellow daisy brings us to Y." Although the idea of this book is sound, it does not really tell the reader about Georgia today, or Georgia's history, and is very segmented. This may prove to be useful in elementary schools and libraries in Georgia.
